Surmesur to imprint its style on U.S. menswear market

The Thériault brothers, Vincent and François, are proud to announce the expansion of their Surmesur concept-boutique to the United States with the opening in May of its first U.S. store in Chicago, Illinois. “We opened five boutiques in our first five years of operations,” said Vincent Thériault, co-founder of the Québec-based made-to-measure menswear company. “Our vision has always been to expand with time, and our entry into the U.S. market is the logical next step in our growth. Today, we are proud to introduce our brand to the U.S.”

The 2,000-square-foot boutique will be located in the heart of the Loop, Chicago’s central business district. The location is in keeping with the company’s strategy to open boutiques close to where its clients work. “We’ll follow the same formula in several other cities in the months to come, both in Canada and the U.S.,” said Thériault. “We want to make it easy for our clients to visit us. Men, especially businessmen with limited free time, appreciate that kind of accessibility.”

The Chicago store is the seventh for Surmesur, which has locations in Québec, Montréal, Toronto, Ottawa, Laval, and most recently, Mississauga, where a new boutique will soon open its doors to meet growing demand in the Greater Toronto Area.

Surmesur has planned its foray into the U.S. for more than a year, taking the time to acquire the necessary capital, work out logistics, train staff, and implement procedures to ensure a smooth rollout and long-term success.
