Surmesur is proud to announce the opening of a new store in Mississauga, the company’s sixth in Canada and the second to serve the Greater Toronto Area.
“We’ve been in Toronto since 2013 and we have an impressive client base that comes to see us from the Mississauga area, so we decided to save them the trip and serve them closer to home,” said Surmesur co-founder François Thériault.
The 2,000-square-foot store will open its doors at the end of April at 255 Lakeshore Road E., a location chosen for its accessibility and proximity to the city’s business district.
“We’ve always gone where our clients are, and now Mississauga residents won’t have to wait in traffic to get the best made-to-measure shirts and suits in the GTA,” Thériault said.
In keeping with the company’s signature shopping experience, the store’s layout features a showroom where clients can peruse more than 8,000 fabric samples. Using state-of-the-art creation software and giant TV screens, Style Consultants help the client design their custom clothing. Measurement Specialists then take the client’s measurements, which are stored in a database. Once the order is received four to six weeks later, in-store tailors perform any necessary alterations.
The move to Mississauga represents the latest step in Surmesur’s ongoing expansion across Canada, and comes a few weeks ahead of the planned opening of the company’s first U.S. locations, in Chicago and Pittsburgh. Surmesur also recently launched a redesigned, transactional website, www.surmesur.com, allowing clients to create and order their made-to-measure clothing online.
“Being a company in constant growth makes it possible for us to combine innovative technology, like the online creation tool, with the time-honoured craft of traditional tailoring, and to offer that experience to more and more people across North America and the world,” said Thériault.
