The past weekend was a rewarding one for Surmesur, as the company and cofounder Vincent Thériault received two separate entrepreneurial awards in as many days.
First, Vincent was named among the 20 recipients of the Inspire 2016 awards, presented June 16 by Québec City’s Young Chamber of Commerce (Jeune chambre de commerce de Québec).
The Inspire awards recognize business people under the age of 40 for their contribution to the economic development of the Québec City region, according to the following criteria: innovation, influence, growth, social engagement and commitment to the local economy.
Two days later, the Young Chambers of Commerce of the province of Québec presented Vincent with the Grand prix de la relève d’affaires in honor of his achievements in the retail industry.
These were not the first honors Surmesur has received. The company has distinguished itself from the very beginning, earning a variety of industry and entrepreneurial awards: the Bourse Jeune Entreprise Desjardins in 2011, Entreprise Innovante C2 Montréal (Fast Company) 2012, the first Prêt à Entreprendre (PAE) award from the Québec City Chamber of Commerce and the 2013 Vision trophy in the category of emerging visionary business, given by Québec City’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
More recently, Surmesur won the 2015 Reconnaissance award for digital innovation from the Retail Council of Québec, as well as the Les Pléiades award of excellence from the Lévis Chamber of Commerce, in the retail and service category.
